November may have been a difficult month for many of you with the compounded effect of Mercury retrograde in Scorpio AND the total solar eclipse in Scorpio. As this retrograde is nearly over, (phew!), I thought this would be an opportune time to discuss the upcoming Mercury retrogrades for 2013.Mercury usually goes retrograde three, sometimes four times a year. During 2013, you’ll be glad to know that it retrogrades only three times from:February 22nd until March 16th at 19 degrees Pisces
June 26th until July 19th at 23 degrees Cancer
October 20th until November 9th at 18 degrees ScorpioThe Mercury retrograde generally focuses on a particular element for the whole year and for 2013, the focus is on the Water signs. There is a three week period before and after the retrograde which is known as the shadow time, so you may well experience the energies of the retrograde for up to nine weeks in each cycle. The house in your personal horoscope where the retrograde action takes place will be where you will feel the effects most strongly.
The general effect of Mercury retrograde is annoyance. Little things go wrong and cause frustration. There can be misunderstandings and breakdowns in communication, cancelled appointments and last minute changes of plans, problems with electrical equipment, issues with phones, computers, printers, travel delays, strikes and delays with the mail.Remember to double check all your plans and allow yourself extra time if you are travelling to an important appointment or meeting. What to avoid during Mercury retrograde:

Closing big deals
Buying a house or making a major purchase
Launching new projects

Installing new software on your computerIt’s a good time to:

For example: reviewing, rewriting, reassessing, reorganising,, revising, revisiting, researching, redoing, renewing, resolving, restructuring, reframing, reflecting, regrouping, reconsidering… and let’s not forget rejuvenating and relaxing! When Mercury goes retrograde it’s time to take your foot off the accelerator pedal and to cruise in neutral for a while. Allow yourself to regroup and to reevaluate your situation according to the sign in which Mercury is retrograde. For example, if it is retrograde in Cancer, you may need to review anything connected with your family, your home, your roots and your security. On a global level, with Mercury retrograde in Water signs all year, we may see some undersea internet cables cut or disrupted in some way, laws and regulations regarding deep sea fishing may be revised, there could be disruptions to oil supplies and more information about Chemtrails may be revealed. On a personal level, it will be a good time to rethink old habits and destructive behaviour patterns. The desire for retreating and not facing unpleasant experiences will be very strong. It is a good time to analyse your dreams, to write a journal about your emotions and to meditate.I’d like to share with you a couple of Mercury retrograde experiences I’ve had this month:
I was at the fish counter in a large supermarket in Spain. The procedure is that you get a ticket and you wait for your number to be called. I had number 47 and the assistant called the numbers so rapidly that it was already number 49 and I had just missed my turn. Or so I thought. I went to the counter and waved my ticket at her asking her to fit me in next. “Oh no,” she said, “you will have to get another ticket, you have missed your turn.” At least, in true Mercury retrograde fashion, this is what I thought she’d said. In the meantime, I was getting more and more agitated as she kept on calling more numbers out and I was unable to get anyone to serve me. Then a nice Spanish lady took hold of my arm and gently showed me that my number was actually 847, and they were calling the 747 numbers! Luckily, a nice Spanish man took pity on me and gave me his ticket which was 767 and I was served soon afterwards. There is enough potential confusion that can arise in your own language, let alone in another country trying to speak a new language during Mercury retrograde.Earlier today, I was calling a client on Skype for an appointment for a reading and there was no reply. I couldn’t understand why she was offline. Then I remembered… the appointment wasn’t until tomorrow!I wonder how many kinds of similar experiences you have been having this month?
