It seems as if the federal government and many of the agencies are concerned about budget cuts. This is unfortunate for a couple of reasons. First of all, it seems as if a government agency’s job is to get bigger. That is to spend all of the money they budgeted, plus a little bit more therefore they can ask for more money from Congress during the next fiscal year. Secondly, it’s unfortunate when these agencies try little mass media propaganda campaigns or pretend crisis to try to extort the money out of the public. Okay so let’s talk about this shall we?All too often whenever there are budget cuts various government employee unions will scream bloody murder because they don’t want any layoffs, or pay cuts. They also say that if you want our services to continue such as; if you want to state parks open, the air traffic control towers running, or continued border security that we’d better not cut their budgets.Regulatory agencies are the same way as they complain that there is fraud and misdeeds, and they are out there trying to help the public. Of course there’s never any mention that they aren’t doing their job very well in the first place, or that their budgets have skyrocketed over the last decade, and there is still more fraud, crime, and problems in the very sectors they operate. In April of 2013 the Federal Aviation Administration announced it would close control towers and furlough tens of thousands of air traffic controllers. They announced that there would be flight delays, and safety challenges. Then Congress acted on public fears and announced that the FAA wouldn’t have budget cuts even though the sequestration made that readily apparent. Instead an act of Congress gave the FAA more money, money and did not deserve in my humble opinion. But the FAA is only one big bureaucracy, there are thousands of others, and the federal government has grown beyond its own britches. Every agency can find a reason why it should not have budget cuts. Soon the summer months will be coming up in 2013 and the National Park Services will tell tourists that they are closed as well. Then people will scream bloody murder, and all the suddenly they will get more budget money. Still, had all of these agents previously run their affairs in a very efficient manner they wouldn’t be having any of these problems now.Government’s number one job is to get bigger, and they don’t care what the American taxpayer has to pay to foot that bill. We have a problem in Washington DC. Isn’t it interesting that every time they have a problem it costs us more money, and they claim that they are the only ones who can fix the problem. Folks they are the problem. That should be obvious to anyone looking at how messed up things are today. Please consider all this and think on it.
