The Metal Gear series has always fascinated me, but I have never really had the push to go out and buy the game. With the trailer of Metal Gear Rising Revengence looking solid, I decided to take the plunge. You play Raden a former child soldier turned cyborg. The plot is set four years after The Metal Gear Solid 4 story.Raden works for PMC Maverick Securities, whilst defending the African Prime-Minister. During a routine car convoy journey, Desperado Enterprises launches an attack with the aim to defeat diplomacy and keep the nations at conflict. It is Raden’s job to preserve the peace and defeat a powerful enemy, with of course some help from cybernetics expert Doktor.Gameplay
You will really love playing as Raven, he comes supplied with a sword and can also pick up secondary weapons. Unfortunately it is a pain to get these weapons out and you can not run whilst picking them. Slightly stupid when you have a boss plunging towards you with rockets.Blade Mode is an awesome addition and lets you slice enemies apart into little pieces. I’m going to be totally honest and say I am not the best at sword type fighting games, so pretty much sucked at aiming.During gameplay you can cut into an enemies spine and grab out a repair unit. This enables Raden to go back to full health, which is a great feature for someone like me who gets hit every five seconds!Camera angles sometimes do fail in this game especially in small or cramped spaces and ultimately means I struggled to see all opponents. It is not always a problem but is certainly a pain in certain parts of Revengence.Other Factors
I rarely mention gameplay music; however the soundtrack of this game needs a mention. It is fast paced and just plain cool. It perfectly suits the action and throughout I was amazed at how good this sounds. After all battles you get a score for how accurate you were throughout your attacks and so on, this was a really nice touch.Advice

Genre Action, Fighting.
Missions Story – Interesting storyline but a bit crazy at moments.

As you would expect from Metal Gear, fighting is a massive plus point. I am not a fantastic fight gamer, but I did enjoy playing this. It’s a shame that the game length is really short and camera angles sometimes leave enemies slightly out of shot. Also do not forget the blade mode, probably the best addition to the game. I chose not to use it during gameplay but I know for other gamers, this will be a must use and you will certainly get a thrill from cutting an enemies arm or body into small little pieces.Rating
Metal Gear Rising Revengence is an impressive fighter with all around action. Despite a few problems, this game has many positives and the music sounds utterly awesome throughout gameplay. (7/10)
