What has happened in America? Well, it’s simple, you see we’ve lost trust. We’ve been told on many occasions, even promised things by our teleprompter in chief, but none of those messages of hope or change came forth. Oh sure, the speeches were brilliantly written, well-rehearsed and delivered with precision and talent, no doubt about it. Impressive is a more apropos word to describe the act of showmanship. There is only one problem with all of that, none of those words were worth the ones and zeros they were programmed with. Now as we ponder the 2013 State of the Union Speech, again we get a great speech, great talk, nice words, but there isn’t anything behind any of it, that we know, history, recent history is our proof, we need not listen except for perhaps a self-help guru like pep and motivational talk. One has to wonder when a good number of Americans might actually wake up and realize they’ve been lied too, that they are no different than anyone described as people in the famous quote; “you can fool most of the people most of the time.”Words are not actions, they are just words, and in the case of a brilliant State of the Union Speech in front of both houses read from a teleprompter, well, those are just characters grouped together and immediately read from a scrolling text, with a few pauses every minute to give everyone in the room their annual exercise of sit-down, stand-up, clap-hands routine. Kind of like a cheap pathetic version of the old Buns of Steele videos to help folks get in shape, after they send check or money order for $19.99 to PO Box 1400, or order by phone where operators are standing by, but if you order now, you guessed it; free Ginzu Knives? You see folks this is just a dog and pony show which is an insult to the intelligence of all Americans, where we are to “trust” those who’ve lied so many times to us in the past. Still, let me remind you that you shouldn’t listen to a word he says, those words are hollow, meaningless, and nothing more than expensive branding with the costs going to the taxpayer so they can carry on with yet another “big important” Washington DC event.More big talk about jobs, economy, diversity, hope, change, environment, and yet, we can expect nothing more than what we’ve already seen; nothing. All smoke and mirrors, and that my friends is why there is no trust left in this administration, nor do they deserve any respect. Please consider all this and think on it.
