The year that has just ended brought a wealth of titles for gamers and 2013 seems to bring even more excitement in the world of PC and console games. If you are looking for a few ideas of games you should play this week, you will be spoilt for choice. It actually doesn’t really matter which genre is you into, as 2012 made it possible for everyone to grab and enjoy a new game. Whether you are looking to fill a weekend or are simply looking for a game to help you get over the January blues, the following five titles are certainly worth a try.Guild Wars 2In a market still dominated by World of Warcraft, many wondered when there would be a name worthy to be called a rival. After the fall of “Star Wars: The Old Republic”, only Guild Wars 2 seemed to have sufficient arguments to reconcile with the genre. The gameplay of the first episode was partially abandoned to make way for a game closer to the classic MMORPG, but also allowed more freedom left to the player. With a sublime achievement, full of good ideas, and without a monthly subscription, Guild Wars 2 definitely deserves a try. The lack of dynamic content is one of the weak points of the game, but it is expected to be corrected at some point.Diablo IIIBlizzard’s marketing agency sure did a great job with the launch of Diablo III. Perhaps the most anticipated game of all times, Diablo III is also one of the best games ever made, so if you haven’t tried it out yet, this week would be the right time to do so. Blizzard has truly done a wonderful job and they have already released a patch to make the title more accessible, fun and make the repetitiveness of the genre more pleasant. If you feel like trying a new hack and slash game, Diablo III will surprise you, as it is the best title released in this category for the past five years.Max Payne 3Last summer, posters of Max Payne 3 were to be seen everywhere as the advertising agency employed by Rockstar Games Studios did a fantastic job teasing the gamers who were eagerly waiting to get their mitts on the new title of the award winning series. If for some reason you haven’t yet played Max Payne 3, it would be recommended to try it this week, as you are missing on a lot. If the communication around the game had left more than one fan sceptical about the quality of the script that made it to the general public, Rockstar used their marketing agency brilliantly to reassure users that everything looks swell once the game is installed on our machines. That said Max Payne 3 is simply the very best in the genre.DishonouredIn the ruthless world of FPS, new licenses are usually doomed to a dark fate. This is not the case with dishonoured, a game that wins hands down the title of FPS of the year. With an original gameplay mixing action and infiltration, the game is perfect for those who get bored easily. The city of Dunwall in which the action takes place indeed has an incredible charm and the game is not only highly enjoyable, but a terrific visual experience as well. The Walking Dead: Season 1Take a series of successful comics with zombies and characters that worked well. Put it now in the hands of the perpetrators of the greatest games point and click 90s. Let it sit for a few months in development, cut the game in episodes and you get the best adventure game ever released for 10 years. More than that, The Walking Dead is a shattering adventure that has been very successful in capturing the essence of the series and provides an emotional intensity simply unprecedented in a videogame.
